Bearing in mind that plans for the formation of the new Harrogate Council are in a state of flux and have now been delayed until later next year, for those of you who are keen to shape the decision-making process in the Harrogate district, please consider participating in the following surveys.

The Council currently has a mounting deficit of £25m, and this is your opportunity to highlight what you think the Council’s spending priorities should be. Perhaps there is a council-run service which you particularly need and would like to safeguard. Your opinion matters, so click on the following link in order to have your say. Banking hub survey ends March 14th!

Following the closure of the final bank in Knaresborough, last year, residents have experienced difficulty obtaining cash. There is now hope that a Banking Hub could improve the situation. Banking Hubs aim to provide banking counter services suited to the needs of the community. To ensure their views are heard, residents were encouraged to complete an on-line survey before March 14th

Extra funding for buses!

North Yorkshire County Council is to receive extra Government funding to support bus services.The authority now wants to hear the public’s thoughts on how to invest the cash. For further information, please follow this link.

Did you know that nearly 20 flowerbeds near the town centre have been returned to grass in recent years? Do you enjoy the daffodils along the roadside to Ripon and Pannal?

Consultation on the Draft Priorities for the North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Plan 2019/21 – Message from Julia Mulligan

I would like as many people as possible to tell me their views on the draft priorities for the fire service. As Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner, it is my responsibility to produce a Fire and Rescue Plan setting out the strategic vision, priorities and objectives for North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service over the next two years. I will use this to hold your Fire and Rescue Service to account. Before I finalise the plan I want to hear from yourself, your community, businesses and others who work alongside the service. I want to make sure the priorities being proposed reflect what you expect from your fire and rescue service.

Harrogate Main Post Office set for closure

Help save Harrogate’s main Post Office

As WH Smith continues its programme to amalgamate post offices within its branches, it has been confirmed that the town centre post office in Harrogate is marked for closure. The plan is to relocate the post office within the WH Smith store in Cambridge Street. This move comes at a time when the future of the post office in Cold Bath Road is also in doubt.
